Obituary for Edna Dorothy Fletcher

Mrs. Edna D. Hanserd-Fletcher was born in Athens, Alabama on November 11th, 1927 to the late Mr. Lewis Hanserd and the late Mrs. Florence P. Hanserd-Stanley.

She confessed hope in Christ at an early age, and joined Macedonia Baptist church where she remained a faithful member until her health failed. She served in several ministries of the church, pastors aid, mothers ministry,and ushers ministry.

Edna worked for the Goodyear company for many years, before retiring. Some of her pastimes were cooking and baking, but her passion was serving the Lord. She truly loved her pastor/adopted son Clifford L. Mayes.

She was united to the late Charles Fletcher. To this union six children were born. Three which preceded her in death. YuKita
Washington, Donzie, and DeWayne Fletcher. Edna was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mayme,Winnie,Reva, and 6 brothers, James, Willis, Marcus, William, Charles,and Darden.

She departed this life Saturday November 23, 2019, at the Hospice of Northwest OHIO, surrounded by her family. Edna leaves to cherish her memories three children, one daughter Sheryl Fletcher, Toledo,Ohio. Two sons, Charles Fletcher (Tracy) of Houston Texas. Glynn Fletcher of College Park, GA. Four brothers Morris Stanley, Toledo, Ohio, and Carl Hanserd (Betty) Rockford Illinois, Jocelyn and Gregori Hanserd, Rockford, Illinois,Three sisters, Mrs. Annie Malone (Robert) of Athens, AL and Leona Stanley, Athens,AL., and Lois Matthews , Rockford, Illinois A host of Grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren whom was the apple of her eye,and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Two special friends Frankie Glover and Juanita Hale that she loved dearly.
