Obituary for Gloria Jean Carswell
Gloria "Glo" Carswell was born in Toledo, OH on April 9, 1946 to the late Andrew and Lena Carswell. She gained her wings on November 13, 2019.
She was a 1965 graduate of Jesup W. Scott High School. Gloria retired from JEEP in 1999 after 30 years. She was also a faithful and devoted member of Greater St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the usher board for many years.
She enjoyed going to the casino, cooking, and spending time with her family. Gloria had a passion for nurturing, loving, and caring for children. She had such a beautiful spirit and wanted to share her love with everyone she came in contact with.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Lena Carswell; brothers, Andrew Lee Johnson, William "June" and James "Sonny" Carswell; Nieces, Marilyn Cooke and Christina Holt; Nephew, William Lamar Carswell.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory: her only child, Sherlon Carswell; Grand children Taye (Jasmine) Carswell, and Marcus Ledell; Sister, Arlena Childs; God daughter, Katherine Taylor;
Special friend, Debbie Connor and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
