Obituary for Kim Reid
Kim Anthony Reid, age 56, of Toledo, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019, in hospice after a long fight with cancer. Kim was born May 2, 1963, in Toledo, OH, to Margie Reid.
He attended Toledo Public Schools and graduated from Jesup W. Scott High School in 1981.Kim loved to work and always kept a job. His greatest mystery was that he played the piano by ear. He only had to hear the music one time, and was able to duplicate the sound himself on a piano. He later learned to read music.
Kim was considered the youngest of the family of nine aunts and uncles because his mother was only 16 years old when he was born, with only six brothers and sisters younger than her at the time.
Kim will be remembered for his quiet presence and his willingness to help others in need.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Mildred Hogan, who raised him and his sister, Robin Reid.
Kim is survived by his son, Bryce (Ceretha) Barry; mother, Fanchon Allysworth; five grandchildren, Damarreana, Samai, Emmanuel, Bry'Shawn, and Bryce Jr.; two aunts; three uncles; special friends, Otha and Ruth; and many cousins, family, and friends.
