Manuel (Sax) Steve Saxton gained his wings November 21st 2019 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born February 9,1952 in Hickory North Carolina to Mack Saxton and Pearlie Mae Leach Saxton. After completing his education in Job Corp., he then served 2 years with the United States Marines. His automotive career began in Kenosha Wisconsin where he started his family and relocated to Toledo Ohio where he retired after 33 years with Diamler Chrysler.
Manuel was preceded in death by his parents Mack and Pearlie Mae, brothers Charles (Boo Boo),Mack and James. Left to cherish his memories are his two sisters, Dorothy (Willie) Hopper and Flossie Saxton, both of Hickory NC, John (Pudd) Saxton of Taylorsville NC. Daughters Cheri (Chris) Coulter of Raleigh NC, Akeshia Saxton of Toledo Oh. Granddaughters Malasia Sherrill of Conover NC, Mariah Alcaraz of Raleigh NC, Grandson Keyston Saxton of Toledo OH and two great Grandchildren Mason Lindsey of Conover NC and Sariah Saxton of Toledo Ohio. Along with several nieces and nephews. Special loved one Joanne Wilkerson of Toledo Oh. His wingmen Gilbert Johnson and James Rickman, A childhood friend Steve (Bubba) McCorkle of Hickory NC.
Manuel (Sax) Saxton was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, father figure, brother and friend. He was a avid Nascar fan, enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his loved ones.
