Obituary

Paula was born on August 5, 1956, to the union of James Crawford and Irma Mae Mathis, in Toledo. OH. Paula attended Toledo Public Schools, and later Stautzenberger College. She accepted Christ at an early age while attending Bethel Apostolic Temple, under the pastorage of Elder Ernest L. Cross. More recently, Paula placed her membership with the New Life House of Faith church, where Elder Jermaine McCallum is pastor. She loved hearing and learning about the word of God.

Paula was the epitome of, “A People Person,” She literally met no strangers! Her love for people was unconditional and non-judgmental, and in return, she was loved by many! She absolutely enjoyed being with family and friends, and most gatherings would end with a game of Scrabble! When she found out about “Words with Friends,” no one was exempt. She would start a game, send it to you, and it would last for days. Along with games, she enjoyed Cooking, especially for friends and family. She LOVED Shopping (at Walmart), and was fanatical about Jewelry!

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Jamey Louise Neal, Eva Lynn Williams, and Lisa Marie Jones. She leaves to cherish her memories: 1 son, Manuel Mathis; 4 daughters: Ericka, Tamika, Ravis, and Ebony. 1 Sister, Celeste Mathis, and 5 brothers: James, Dennis, Jerome, Eric (Josie), and Alan Mathis. 1 Great-Aunt, Gladys Levey. 23 grand-children, 4 great-grands, and a host of Cousins and Friends.
