Obituary for Solomon King Neal

Solomon King Neal, 64, affectionately known as Uncle Sol or King Solomon if you let him tell it, was called home to be with Lord on August 17, 2019, at St. Charles Hospital.

Solomon was born the sixth of eleven children on March 26, 1955, to the union of Gussie Mae (Jones) Neal and Butler W. Neal Sr.

Solomon attended Gunkel Elementary and Libbey High School. He also worked for Tate's Chinese Restaurant and Fruit Market on Lewis Avenue until their closings.

To stay healthy Sol loved to roller-skate and do yard work. He loved the kids until they worked his last nerve.

Solomon was preceded in death by both parents, one sister, three brothers, and his only infant son.

Solomon leaves to cherish his funny memories: sisters, Hazel Neal-Bester, Cynthia Neal-Mason; brothers, Carl, Ralph (his partner in crime), Wayne, and Barry Neal; special niece, Jackie Maddox; special friend, Gwen Oliver and her children; and best friend, Willie Gregory.
