Obituary for Vonya Mitchell
Miss Vonya Mitchell was born on November 15, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio to the union of Willie J. Mitchell and Beatrice Day. She departed this life peacefully on July 29, 2019 in her home.
Vonya has three sons, Antonio Lavell Mitchell, Kenyon James Mitchell, and Wali Basier Shabazz Mitchell, and step-daughter, Sabrina Miller. After her mother's death, Vonya and her sister were placed in the care of her Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Buster (Eugene), where they were raised as one of their own children.
Vonya graduated from J.W. Scott High School, She was fun, loving, a practical joker, an encouraging person, and was known to call and have conversations that made you laugh and think. She very much loved her family, knitting, sewing, cooking, music, and eating good food.
Vonya is preceded in death by her parents, Willie J. Mitchell and Beatrice Day; sister, Donna J. Freeman; brother-in-law, Harvey Freeman; step-son, Alfonzo Bell, Jr.; aunt, Dorothy Hughes and uncle, Eugene Hughes.
She leaves to cherish her memory, special son, Allen Dread; niece, Tiara Freeman; nephew, Kenneth Freeman; grandchildren Terry Norris Jr., Sherae Dotson, Antonio Mitchell Jr., Dominique Mitchell, Kenyonna Mitchell, Kenyon Mitchell Jr., Tahj Mitchell, Takia Mitchell, l, Amariana Mitchell, T'Nae Mitchell,Kennedi Mitchel, Amir Mitchell, Malia Mitchell, and Bellamy Mitchell as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends.
